Interesting Fact
We've organized hundreds of anti-hunger education and media events to raise awareness of hunger in our communities which helped lead to a $26 million increase in funding for emergency food programs over the last 25 years.

Core Programs
Hunger Action Network's current projects include:
- Empire State Economic Security Campaign (ES2) promotes income security including raising the state minimum wage, affordable housing, quality health care, creation of living-wage jobs, accessible child care, and adequate public assistance benefits. More than 200 people attended its recent legislative action day in Albany. NYC participants include Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies, University Settlement, Welfare Rights Initiative, Empire Justice Center, Westside Campaign Against Hunger, St. John's Bread and Life, and Neighbors Together. Hunger Action and ES2 also works closely with New Yorkers for Fiscal Fairness / Growing Together Coalition to promote progressive revenue strategies such as income tax reform and closing corporate tax loopholes.
- Faith and Hunger Network educates and mobilizes the Faith Community to address the root causes of hunger at the local, state and national level. Partners with Bread for the World.
- Universal health care. Hunger Action Network helps coordinate Single Payer New York to make health care a human right at the state and national level.
